HBBF Website Redesign

About This Project

Winking Fish worked with Healthy Babies Bright Futures (HBBF) to redesign and reorganize the nonprofit’s website. With the redesign, HBBF wanted to 1) better tell their story of being a solutions-driven alliance working to reduce babies’ exposure to toxic chemicals; 2) better showcase and connect the organization’s many targeted projects, along with their impact; and, 3) create a site that is easier for the HBBF team to manage, update and showcase new information.

Winking Fish helped HBBF develop a strategic storytelling framework – both in content and design – that felt more cohesive and comprehensive, pulling users into their story. We created a more dynamic homepage to better feature new/important information, immediately engage visitors with health solutions and clearly drive different audiences to relevant content areas. Visuals were kept clean, light, bright, fresh and airy, and most importantly, on brand with the overall HBBF aesthetic.

In building out the site map and content strategy we were able to help HBBF identify some gaps and create more content areas that speak directly to consumers, such as the dynamic “Healthy Moments” area on the homepage and the new “Your Healthy Home” section of the site. We also developed more visually interesting ways to connect the organization’s various projects – such as using programmed visuals to dynamically tie projects back to HBBF’s Safe Product Guide.

Winking Fish partnered with Viola Digital Media for the website build, which was completed using the Drupal open source platform.
