Hyatt Place Art Gallery Booklet

Winking Fish worked with Schupp Companies, the builders of the Hyatt Place Arlington/Courthouse Plaza, to create a gallery booklet to highlight the hotel’s unique focus on art, evident in its collection of twelve artists’ expression of motion through sculpture, paintings, photography, print and mix media.

Hyatt and Schupp wanted a sophisticated, museum-style guide that would complement the Hyatt Place brand and its other collateral materials. The guide also needed to highlight and complement the lobby/exterior space design, while efficiently directing guests and visitors through the art collection.

Winking Fish designed a gallery guide that not only drew a seamless connection through the lobby design to the art, but also created an experience for the guest from the minute he/she touched the brochure. Going beyond the design, the Winking Fish team chose a glossy paper stock with a “soft-touch aqueous coating” for an unusual tactile feel that suggests “this is something special and unique” from the moment it gets picked up.
